Galavanta is a start-up specialized in experiential luxury travel in Colombia. We are a fast-growing and dynamic company looking for hard-working, creative and enthusiastic individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Galavanta designs travel itineraries for high net-worth individuals primarily from England, United States, Canada, and France. We work with our clients to modify the itinerary until we jointly achieve the perfect blend of luxury, adventure, cultural immersion and relaxation. Our extensive knowledge of Colombia enables us to handpick the best hotels, restaurants, experiences, private transportation, and support personnel based on guests’ preferences. We also collaborate with topic experts (historians, archeologists, artists, chefs), jet and helicopter companies, and private properties to provide our guests with one-of-a-kind experiences. We then meticulously coordinate every detail of the travel logistics to guarantee a perfect trip.

Galavanta was founded by two McGill University MBA graduates, who were originally born and raised in Colombia and France. MARKETING COORDINATOR

Where and how:

• Full-time employment in Cartagena (Centro)
• Possibility of working remotely when necessary
• Opportunities to explore many destinations in Colombia

What you’ll do:

Galavanta
• Manage the design, content writing and distribution of monthly newsletters using Mailchimp
• Liaise with foreign travel agencies to provide them with information, images and up-to-date information about “what’s new in Colombia”
• Design marketing content (brochures, presentations, etc.) to generate awareness of Galavanta’s products and services
• Collaborate with international journalists and publications to develop ideas and concepts for new Colombia travel articles
• Design and coordinate the logistics for press trips
• Collaborate with programmer and graphic designer for the design and content of Galavanta’s website (photos, pages, content, etc.)
• Collaborate with a writer to generate content about Colombia’s destinations, hotels, restaurants, people, and experiences for Galavanta’s website and itineraries
• Design and implement SEO and SEM tactics to improve Galavanta’s search engine rankings and website visits
• Daily management of Galavanta’s social media accounts to increase presence and awareness, and generate new sales leads
• Contract photographers and videographers to produce media for destinations and experiences.

Corocora Camp
• Design monthly newsletters to generate awareness and maintain Corocora Camp top of mind amongst agencies and clients
• Promote the camp amongst relevant websites and associations that are relevant amongst the target clients (i.e. bird watching websites, conservation websites, etc.).
• Contact national and international media outlets (i.e. online magazines, newspapers, etc.) to write stories about Los Llanos region and Corocora Camp.
• Update website with new content, photos and videos

What you’ll need:

Technical:
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
• Outstanding written English (preferably with travel writing experience)
• Knowledge of SEO, SEM, social media, and digital marketing techniques
• Experience using WordPress
• Spanish language is not a requirement, but can be very helpful
• Experience in editing and managing photos and videos is a valued asset

Personal:
• Knowledge of Colombia’s destinations, cultures, restaurants, and up to date with the latest trends
• Creativity and ability to generate “cool” ideas and experiences
• Excellent disposition, teamwork/interpersonal skills, and positive attitude
• Self-motivated individual who can take initiative and manage projects start-to-finish
• Passion for travelling, and an interest in topics such as nature, adventure, gastronomy, culture, and history
• Graphic design abilities is an extra highly valued asset

TRAVEL DESIGNER

Where and how:

• Full-time employment in Cartagena (Centro)
• Possibility of working remotely when necessary

What you’ll do:

• Correspond with new and existing clients during the travel design process (via email and telephone)
• Develop a quote for each itinerary with Galavanta’s pricing tools
• Design client’s itineraries: write the itinerary details, allocate relevant photos, establish timing of activities, etc.
• Assist the Logistics Team by overseeing the implementation of each client’s itinerary logistics

What you’ll need:

• Excellent spoken and written English
• Outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills
• Familiarity with Colombia’s top travel destinations
• Passion for travelling, and an interest in topics such as nature, adventure, gastronomy, culture, history and/or art
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
• Ability to problem solve and multitask
• Excellent disposition, teamwork/interpersonal skills, and positive attitude
• Ability to think outside the box to generate creative and innovative ideas for travel experiences, and means to increase sales and profitability
• Self-motivated individual who can take initiative and manage projects start-to-finish
• Knowledge of additional languages (i.e. French, Portuguese, German, etc.) is an asset

TRAVEL LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

Where and how:

• Full-time employment in Cartagena (Centro)

What you’ll do:

• Foster relationships with current service providers and research new providers across the country
• Coordinate the details of each itinerary with service providers (i.e. hotels, transportation, topic experts)
• Confirm the precise execution of each experience with service providers
• Receive requests and coordinate logistics for experiences in Cartagena
• Communicate with clients from local hotels and confirm the details of experiences in Cartagena
• Day-to-day tasks at the office (i.e. printing and mailing items, purchasing supplies, bringing equipment and supplies to clients, etc.)

What you’ll need:

• Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail
• Basic spoken and written English
• Outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills
• Passion for traveling, and an interest in topics such as nature, adventure, gastronomy, culture, history and/or art
• Ability to problem solve and multitask
• Excellent disposition, teamwork/interpersonal skills, and positive attitude
• Ability to think outside the box to generate creative and innovative ideas for travel experiences, and means to increase sales and profitability

Los llanos

Recruiting Immediately

SERVICE MANAGER

What you’ll do:

Living on the camp ground, the Service Manager will be working along the camp manager and kitchen staff to attend to the guests needs, ensure the quality of the attention, and provide bar and table service.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible of the guest experience: excellent customer service, personalized attention and special requests

Lodging

• Provide a personalized service to meet all the needs of the guests.
• Prepare the necessary elements for the welcome of the guests.
• After check-in, introduce yourself to the guest, accompany the guest to your tent and explain the facilities of the room and hotel, and offer assistance for the rest of your stay.
• Assist guests with baggage handling to ensure safe and timely delivery.
• Respond to all requests and questions of the guests in a friendly and attentive manner and refer the issues to the relevant people to handle them.
• Offer assistance to guests with the shine of shoes, packing and unpacking of luggage

Food & Drinks

• Prepare and clean the areas for table service
• Assembly of the main dining room and private dining rooms
• Offer and serve drinks and food
• Keep track of additional orders
• Prepare drinks

What you’ll need:

• Languages: fluent spoken English, any other language is an added value
• Experience in customer service
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage and receive constructive comments from clients and employees
• Leadership and teamwork, conflict resolution and good human resources management
